However, obtaining such a license is difficult because he or she must first pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET). It is the exam that was adopted in the Philippines on December 16, 1994, under Republic Act 7836, also known as the “Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act of 1994.” The Republic Act intends to improve teachers in order to strengthen the country’s educational system. The examination is divided into two parts for Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) graduates: General Education and Professional Education. Each section has 150 test items and will last approximately 3 hours. The examination consists of three components for Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) graduates: General Education, Professional Education, and their Area of Specialization. In the same way as BEED has 150 exam items, each component will take about 3 hours to complete.
